Job Summary

The Senior Electrical Engineer will play a key role in the development of electrical technical packages for Business Development projects, resolving problems for ongoing marine projects, and supervising resources to support assigned projects. This position will also involve actively participating in developing Concept Designs for various Classified & Commercial Marine Projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop electrical technical packages for Business Development projects
  • Resolve problems for ongoing marine projects
  • Supervise resources to support assigned projects
  • Participate in developing Concept Designs for various Classified & Commercial Marine Projects
  • Assist the Ship Design Technical Lead and Project Engineer in meeting assigned tasks
Requirements
  • Master's degree in electrical / electronics engineering with 6 years of marine-related experience or Bachelor's degree in electrical / electronics engineering with 8 years of experience of increasing responsibility in the engineering field of competence
  • Supervisory experience strongly desired
  • Six Sigma or LEAN training desired
Skills
  • Technological skills proven by verifiable and specific work experience, technical publication, or patent issue
  • Working knowledge of standard shipbuilding rules and regulations, as well as the associated regulatory agencies and the review & approval process
  • Ability to develop and interpret AutoCAD 2D & 3D drawings, modeling, and revisions as needed
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suites computer skills
  • Ability to work within schedule and budget restraints
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to obtain and hold level of Secret Clearance or meet the requirements to gain a Secret Clearance
Work Environment

This is a full-time office-oriented assignment in Washington DC. Travel to outlying facilities will be on 'as needed' basis and limited to 20%.
