Job Summary

The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing building electrical systems, including power, lighting, fire alarm, and special systems.

This role offers the opportunity to work on projects across various market sectors, such as healthcare, academic, industrial, and commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and develop electrical systems, including lighting, power, life safety, and security systems.
  2. Develop calculations for lighting systems and associated controls.
  3. Lead project teams and serve as the primary contact for the discipline with clients.
  4. Perform QA/QC of design work and prepare detailed design documents.
  5. Oversee and provide guidance to junior engineers.
  6. Coordinate work with other disciplines.
  7. Assist in the procurement of new work, including the development of client relations and participation in project interviews.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 12 years of electrical experience in the AEC industry.
  • A Master's Degree is preferred.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in Maryland, DC, and/or Virginia, with the capability to get licensed in other states.
  • LEED certification/experience is a plus.
  • Experience with laboratories/medical facilities design is preferred.
Skills and Abilities

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
  • Familiarity with codes, standards, and design guidelines.
  • An excellent work ethic and attitude.
  • Good communication and time management skills.
  • Interpersonal communication skills, combined with organizational skills, the ability to plan, balance, and prioritize work.
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
