Job Overview: The Nursing Assistant Select Float Pool Critical Care position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing direct patient care and support services to patients on the unit. As a member of our team, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care and be part of a collaborative and supportive team culture.

About the Role: In this critical care setting, you will be responsible for assisting patients with daily living activities, vital sign monitoring, and reporting any changes or concerns to registered nurses. You will also assist with transportation, positioning, and mobilization of patients, adhering to proper body mechanics and safety measures. Your exceptional communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff, promoting a positive and respectful work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide general office management and clerical duties, including order entry and processing.
  • Coordinate administrative support activities, adhering to Nursing Policies and Procedures.
  • Perform patient care responsibilities, including bathing, hygiene assistance, changing bed linens, and maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Assist with meals, feeding patients as needed, distributing nourishment, and providing fresh water.
  • Measure and record intake and output, positioning patients correctly, and transporting patients via wheelchair or stretcher.


Education and Experience: To qualify for this role, you will need to possess a High School diploma or equivalent, 3 years of experience at an acute care or skilled nursing facility, or student nurse with hospital-based clinical experience. You should have basic computer skills, keyboard, mouse use, and the ability to complete data entry on clinical documentation screens. Additionally, you must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English, hold CPR certification, and have Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification preferred.
