Job Summary

As a skilled Angiogram/Interventional Technologist at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and imaging services. Under the indirect supervision, you will be responsible for performing a variety of angio interventional procedures on patients of all ages, evaluating images for technical quality, and exercising professional attitude and judgment in the performance of duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Uphold Kaiser Permanente's Policies and Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities, and applicable state, federal, and local laws.
  • Provide compassionate service and treat coworkers with respect and appreciation.
  • Identify the impact of cultural diversity and lifestyle choices on patient condition and make accommodations for such differences.
  • Consistently select correct technical factors relative to the requirements of the study and the patient's age and body habitus.
  • Process radiographic images properly, utilizing automated equipment.
  • Use proper sterile technique and operate imaging computer properly and in accordance with department protocols.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and consistently use ancillary equipment properly.
  • Foster teamwork and thinking positively.
  • Position patients accurately relative to the requirements of the study as stated in the department protocols.
  • Take special care in handling/positioning patients with critical injuries or trauma to avoid further injury.
  • Assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs.
  • Exercise good clinical judgment and consult with the radiologist or other clinician for purposes of clarifying orders.
  • Document clinical activities in a timely, comprehensive, and accurate manner.
Requirements
  • Minimum two (2) years experience as a staff technologist in Interventional Radiology or successful completion of the department angiography interventional training program.
  • Radiologic Technologist Certificate (California).
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist - Fluoroscopy Certificate (California).
  • Radiologic Technologist Certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Basic Life Support within 3 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certificate of advanced qualification: ARRT-Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) and/or Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV).
  • Venipuncture Certificate.
  • Additional training in the use and practices of angiography interventional procedures.
