Job Summary

The Nurse Care Specialist at MUSC (Medical University of South Carolina) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care services. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing individualized, goal-directed nursing care to families and patients.

About the Role

This position requires a Registered Nurse with a strong foundation in nursing principles and practices. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with nursing standards of care and practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patient needs and develop effective care plans to address their physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs.

  • Direct and lead other assigned team members to ensure seamless care delivery.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care services and optimize outcomes.

  • Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment by ensuring patient privacy and promoting responsive, respectful, accepting, and professional behavior.

  • Apply care management principles to ensure efficient and effective care delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.

  • Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

  • Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, and climbing stairs.

  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in temperature extremes.

  • Ability to work in a latex-safe environment.

Work Environment

  • Rotating shifts.

  • Overtime as required.

  • Confined/cramped spaces.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer an estimated annual salary range of $83,000 - $123,000 depending on experience, plus comprehensive benefits including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
