Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Superintendent to join our team at Channel Personnel Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all site operations units, including the effective allocation of resources and staffing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide safety leadership on the shop floor by demonstrating a personal safety mindset and ensuring safe work practices and behaviors are used by all associates and contractors.
  • Ensure OSHA PSM standards are practiced, including employee participation, management of change, and PM items.
  • Actively participate in plant safety committee and key hazard teams, leading incident investigations and facilitating corrective actions.
  • Drive good housekeeping standards and 5S, ensuring hazardous and nonhazardous wastes are properly handled and not allowed to accumulate.
  • Responsible for production schedule attainment and achievement of productivity targets, troubleshooting and resolving operational issues.
  • Coordinate efficient outage planning and maximize plant uptime, coordinating between production, maintenance, and project work.
  • Maintain physical inventory of raw materials and finished goods, monitor process order costs, and execute plant approvals for new recipes in SAP.
  • Investigate quality and customer incidents, prevent recurrence, and take an active role reviewing new recipes prior to manufacture.
  • Support ISO certification, work in coordination with QA department to drive sustainable quality improvements on a product-by-product basis.
  • Be visible and available to manage personnel and process issues, empower and engage area teams to affect and implement changes and improvements.
  • Lead hiring process for recruiting technicians, continuously assess associate performance, and provide developmental opportunities as appropriate.
  • Ensure all manufacturing operators receive proper and adequate certification training, recognize reliable performance, and give corrective feedback as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or the functional equivalent in experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years of proven experience managing and leading others in chemical processing or a closely related field.
  • Organizational, supervisory, and motivational skills, analytical and team building abilities.
  • Transformational leadership, change management, communication, and people skills.
