Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Data Specialist to join our team at Terry Soot Management Group (TSMG).

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented individual to work in the field, collecting and verifying data on residential and agricultural properties. The successful candidate will have excellent spatial abilities, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

The Field Data Specialist will be responsible for:
  • Analyzing and verifying property images and data to ensure that property records accurately reflect current property characteristics.
  • Updating property records as needed, ensuring they are complete and accurate.
  • Traveling to property locations, getting in and out of vehicles, and physically inspecting residential and agricultural properties.
  • Measuring and examining the exteriors of buildings, recording property characteristics, square footage, angles, sketches, and dimensions on field documents or mobile devices.
  • Capturing clear digital images of properties, including specified property improvements when required.
  • Updating data on the physical condition of buildings, ensuring records reflect current conditions.
  • Maintaining personal production records in alignment with productivity targets, completing logs, control forms, and other required documentation.
  • Communicating effectively with the public, explaining the purpose of property visits, addressing inquiries about the interior of the property, and handling questions or complaints courteously.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Tech savvy skills.
  • 1 year of experience in residential data collection and property measurement would be beneficial.
  • Experience with sketching on Apex or other platforms would be a huge plus.
  • Strong spatial ability to read maps and locate physical locations on a map.
  • Ability to visualize floor plans based on three-dimensional buildings.
  • Good math skills for calculating square footage, ratios, and similar functions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to accurately capture and record comprehensive property details.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is $45,000 per annum, plus benefits and mileage reimbursement.
