CAD/CAM Programmer Job Summary

The CAD/CAM Programmer is responsible for creating and verifying machining programs using AutoCAD, Solidworks, Sigmanest, and Mastercam. This role requires a strong understanding of print reading and drawing interpretation, as well as experience with CNC machines and burn table operation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and create CAM programs using Sigmanest and Mastercam
  • Verify machining programs match drawing interpretation and symbols
  • Support Project Management by monitoring machining outcomes in the shop
  • Collaborate with Production Supervisors to resolve material conflicts and re-issue programs as needed
Requirements:
  • A minimum of an Associate's degree in Engineering or Drafting, or 5 years of CNC programming experience with Mastercam
  • Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD Mechanical, including flat developments, intersections, and 3D drafting techniques
  • Intermediate knowledge of Solidworks
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in print reading and drawing interpretation
  • Knowledge of machining practices, including CNC machines and burn table operation
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced knowledge and certification in Solidworks or most recent version
  • Experience in a welding or heavy machining environment
