Position Overview:
This role involves supporting various departments within the college through a range of essential tasks. The selected candidate will work under the guidance of a department supervisor, following both written and verbal instructions. More complex issues will be directed to the supervisor or other designated personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with general administrative tasks within a designated department or specialized area.
- Responsibilities may include data entry, filing, copying, answering phones, managing mail, and maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Welcome visitors, provide basic information, and manage phone calls, including taking messages or directing inquiries to the appropriate staff.
- Process student applications and forms, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established guidelines.
- Conduct basic data entry into online systems and compile data for reports as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of documents and forms, and manage physical or digital filing systems.
- Facilitate the coordination of document processing between departments and external agencies, adhering to established procedures.
- Engage with the supervisor to discuss workflow, plans, and task assignments.
- Comply with college, federal, and state regulations to ensure adherence to all operational guidelines.
- Provide support to faculty and student services as required.
- Prepare materials for bulk distribution, such as class handouts or mailings.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization within the department.
- Support the preparation of educational materials as needed.
- Perform additional related tasks as assigned.
A high school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required to fulfill the essential functions of this position.
Candidates must intend to enroll in at least 6 credit hours of relevant coursework each semester to maintain employment. Certain roles may also require completion of specific courses.
