Job Title: Aviation Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Aviation Design Engineer to join our team at TranSystems. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing airport and civil infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop airport and civil infrastructure projects, including airport/civil design, rehabilitation, and inspection.
  • Prepare design calculations, construction documents, specifications, and estimates.
  • Conduct construction inspection services and participate in non-design engineering activities such as materials testing, surveying, and CADD production.
  • Collaborate with project managers and senior project engineers to ensure accurate and efficient project delivery.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, and maintain professional and technical knowledge through ongoing education and training.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in highways, general civil, or construction management from an ABET-accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in reading plans and shop drawings, evaluating contractor compliance with construction plans and specifications.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with experience working in a fast-paced engineering environment.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other AutoCAD-related software.
  • Civil Engineer-in-Training/Fundamentals of Engineering Certification, and valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Highway or general civil engineering background, knowledge of AutoCAD, and experience with airport, highway, or civil engineering design drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • PennDOT Highway or General Civil consulting and/or construction services experience, and/or experience with Aviation or highway engineering/inspection in Pennsylvania.
  • Current Professional Civil Engineer or capability to obtain a Pennsylvania Civil Professional Engineer's License within 24 months.
