Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach classes in the Department of English Studies at Lewis University. The successful candidate will have expertise in Rhetoric-Composition and experience in teaching a range of college writing courses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach one or more classes in the First-Year Writing Program, utilizing a process approach supported with digital composing technologies.
  • Participate in First-Year Writing professional development to stay current with best practices in teaching writing.
  • Hold office hours and meet with other faculty members and department chairs or directors as needed.
  • Model professionalism and serve as a resource for students within the teaching-learning environment.
Requirements
  • Masters degree in Rhetoric-Composition or a related field.
  • Experience in teaching college writing courses from a process approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in teaching a range of college writing courses, including First-Year Writing.
  • Knowledge of digital composing technologies and their application in the teaching of writing.
Work Environment

This is a part-time, as-needed position. The successful candidate will be expected to work independently and as part of a team to achieve the goals of the Department of English Studies.
