Job Summary

L Squared Engineering is seeking a detail-oriented Construction Inspector to ensure construction projects comply with design standards, local codes, ordinances, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site inspections of land development and commercial construction projects to verify compliance with engineering design and contract specifications.
  • Review construction plans for compliance before construction begins, ensuring that all necessary permits and approvals are in place.
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections and prepare comprehensive reports to document findings and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure project quality.
  • Work Environment:
    • Full-time position with standard business hours, though some evening/weekend work may be required.
    • Combination of office work and field inspections, with significant time spent at construction sites.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in construction inspection, with a strong background in building codes and regulations.
  • Previous experience reading plans, specifications, and construction design details.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with computers and inspection software, including valid driver's license and clean driving record.
