Cardiac Cath Lab Technician Job Description

HCA MidAmerica Health is seeking a skilled Cardiac Cath Lab Technician to join our team in Lees Summit, Missouri.

Job Summary

Cath lab technicians play a crucial role in cardiovascular care, assisting with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the catheterization lab. As a Cardiac Cath Lab Technician, you will work closely with physicians and nursing personnel to ensure the highest level of patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with invasive cardiology patient procedures, including the insertion of catheters and measurement/administration of special fluids.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of radiographic imaging, patient physiologic monitoring, and cardiac arrhythmias recognition.
  • Comply with principles of sterile technique and collect data for database, outcome analysis, and performance improvement.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and respond within 30 minutes to the Cath Lab when on call.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist program or Invasive Cardiovascular Technology program.
  • ARRT (RT) (R) or ARRT CI/CV/VI or Registered Cardiovascular Specialist (RCIS) required within 12 months of hire.
  • BLS required; ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in Cardiac Cath Lab tech role.
  • Ability to report to LSMC within 30 minutes of call back.
