Position Summary

The selected candidate will provide essential program management support to facilitate the objectives of the Human Effectiveness Directorate, specifically within the Bioeffects Division 711 HPW/RHD. This division is crucial for optimizing the safe use of the electromagnetic spectrum in national defense initiatives.

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver program management expertise to enhance daily operations within the Bioeffects Division portfolio, applying acquisition and program management principles throughout the research acquisition lifecycle.
  • Develop and utilize administrative and monitoring tools necessary for the effective management of research projects.
  • Contribute to strategic and tactical acquisition planning by defining project scope, budget, timeline, and performance metrics.
  • Analyze acquisition data to identify trends and collaborate with project managers to improve acquisition effectiveness and compliance.
  • Engage in learning defense acquisition policies and recommend actions in line with established guidelines.
  • Review and edit project plans and research proposals for accuracy and consistency.
  • Identify programmatic risks and implement strategies to mitigate their impact on project success.
  • Assist in contracting activities, including the preparation of statements of work and monitoring awarded contracts.
  • Oversee the financial aspects of projects, ensuring proper tracking of budgets and expenditures.
  • Provide technical guidance on a range of research management issues.
  • Represent the organization at high-level meetings, delivering presentations on program requirements and objectives.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and become familiar with financial systems relevant to program management.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Research or Laboratory Management is essential.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in Air Force Program/Project Management is preferred.
  • A signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) is required due to potential access to sensitive information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possession of a Secret Clearance is highly desirable.
