Position Overview:

The Perinatal Institute at Cincinnati Children's Hospital is actively seeking a dedicated Full-time Staff Physician specializing in Neonatology and/or Newborn Special Care Nursery. This role is designed for those passionate about enhancing neonatal care within the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky/Dayton regions.

As a Neonatology Hospitalist, you will engage in a diverse clinical environment that promotes the development of advanced bedside clinical skills. Your responsibilities will encompass services at Children's Level IV NICU, alongside (5) Level III and (9) Level II NICUs, including attendance at deliveries, stabilization care, and conducting well-newborn examinations and discharges.

This role offers a unique opportunity for mentorship and education, allowing you to teach medical students, residents, nursing staff, and allied health professionals. You will also have the chance to contribute to newborn-focused quality improvement initiatives and clinical projects.

Flexible scheduling options are available, with a focus on night and weekend shifts, complemented by time off during weekdays. This position is accompanied by a competitive compensation package.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Care: Deliver direct medical care to pediatric patients, ensuring adherence to established guidelines and treatment protocols.
  • Clinical Excellence: Engage in continuous professional development through training programs and educational opportunities.
  • Effective Communication: Ensure seamless exchange of patient care information during admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Policy Compliance: Uphold departmental standards and comply with all relevant policies and regulations.

Qualifications:

Applicants must be board eligible or certified in Pediatrics and/or Neonatology, with experience in Level II/III/IV NICU settings. An unrestricted medical license and approval from CCHMC Medical Staff Services Division are required, along with a minimum of two years of relevant experience.


Preferred Skills:
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Strong clinical assessment and management skills.
  • Knowledge of growth and development principles.
