ECU Health Chowan Hospital is a critical access facility dedicated to serving a population of approximately 110,000 across six counties. This 25-bed hospital offers a comprehensive range of medical and surgical services, including intensive care, a specialty care clinic, and an outpatient surgery area equipped with endoscopy capabilities.

Position Overview

The Registered Nurse is accountable for delivering care in alignment with the North Carolina Board of Nursing-Nurse Practice Act and the American Nurses Association Standards of Practice. Nursing care will be provided in accordance with established policies, procedures, and professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. **Patient Care Coordination**: Responsible for the provision and coordination of nursing care, including the collection and analysis of assessment data, identification of expected outcomes, and the development of a collaborative care plan with patients and their families.
2. **Implementation and Evaluation**: Identify and implement interventions to achieve expected outcomes, monitor patient progress, and document the care process, ensuring sensitivity to the unique needs of patients and families.
3. **Team Collaboration**: Promote effective functioning of the healthcare team by collaborating with team members to address the identified needs of patients and families throughout their care journey. Delegate tasks as appropriate, adhering to the NC Nurse Practice Act.

Minimum Qualifications

- Current North Carolina Registered Nurse license or licensure in a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state.
- Certification in Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association is required.
