Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as an Assistant Athletic Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating academic support services for student athletes, as well as assisting with recruitment and placement of McCaskey athletes in postsecondary school/athletics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor student-athlete eligibility and develop systems to ensure compliance with PIAA, LL League, and SDoL standards.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to coordinate academic support services for student-athletes and serve as a liaison between staff and struggling student-athletes.
  • Actively seek to create cooperative relationships with local colleges, businesses, and community organizations to support the tutoring program.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to ensure compliance with rules and regulations regarding eligibility and admission of athletes to post-secondary institutions.
  • Collaborate with Varsity Coaches and School Counselors to actively promote McCaskey student-athletes to post-secondary coaches and recruiters.
  • Coordinate with School Counselors, the Student Assistance Program, and other key stakeholders to provide appropriate services for student-athletes with social, emotional, or mental health needs.
  • Serve as a liaison between the High School Administration and the Athletic Department to develop appropriate plans of action for students with behavioral difficulties.
  • Attend athletic contests and required meetings, including faculty manager meetings with the Athletic Director.
  • Follow District financial policies for the collection and deposit of monies from gate receipts.
  • Assist coaches with the recruitment of new student-athletes and in communicating physicals and recertification dates to students for upcoming seasons.
  • Assist the Athletic Director in making necessary contacts for event scheduling, postponing, and rescheduling, as well as in coordinating the preparation of athletic fields and facilities for athletic seasons and contests.
  • Submit building permits for athletic events, assist in field placement and facility scheduling, and help resolve concerns and issues related to the building athletic program.
  • Collaborate with faculty managers in joint athletic programs and assist in the sending and receiving of reconditioned equipment.
  • Support the Athletic Director in creating, coordinating, and supervising internship opportunities.
Requirements
  • 2 years of related experience as an athletic coach or athletic administrator.
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Education field, or related field.
  • National coaching and/or athletic management certification.
  • CPR/First Aid certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including conflict resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of PIAA eligibility standards.
  • Knowledge of pedagogy, as it relates to academic and athletic instruction.
  • Knowledge of the college recruitment process and the NCAA regulations.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging principles.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
