About the Role

The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City is seeking a skilled Backend Software Developer to join the Treasury Data Transparency & Strategy (DTAS) team. As a key member of this team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the USASpending Team by leveraging your expertise in Python, Databricks, PySpark, AWS Step Functions, and PostgreSQL Database within an AWS environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply software engineering principles to design, implement, configure, and optimize solutions for applications, databases, test automation tools, and Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) products.
  • Demonstrate technical expertise in at least one programming language (Python, etc.) and domain-specific language (SQL, proprietary vendor language, etc.), as needed.
  • Perform peer reviews using software engineering principles, patterns, and development guidelines.
  • Partner with customers to develop innovative solutions that achieve business goals.
  • Review and analyze business and technical requirements and implement technical solutions to meet those requirements.
  • Provide data on-call support, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, incident management, and service request management for supported products and environments.
Requirements
  • Typically requires 3-6 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree specializing in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), or a closely related field, from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of directly related education and/or experience.
  • Experienced to Senior understanding of subject.
Additional Information

This is a hybrid role requiring working on-site in Kansas City, MO, a minimum of 50% monthly. United States citizenship is required for this position. The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization.
