Job Summary:

The Pharmacy Director is responsible for overseeing the pharmacy department, including personnel and services provided. This role works closely with other hospital departments and the medical staff, as well as pharmaceutical vendors and the general public.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and mentor staff to ensure professional growth and development
  • Assist with pharmacist coverage to ensure continuity of operations
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the hospital's 340B drug pricing program
  • Communicate the hospital's mission, vision, and values to staff
  • Prepare and manage the pharmacy budget
  • Develop solutions for generating revenue and cost containment
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Graduation from a College of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education
  • A minimum of five years of current pharmacist experience, with two years of supervisory/management experience preferred
  • Current State of Alaska Pharmacist License
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and ACLS certification
