We are seeking a highly skilled Horticultural Supervisor to oversee the maintenance and development of our historic Buffalo Trace grounds and arboretum in Franklin County, Kentucky.

Your Role

The Homeplace Horticultural Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing employees who maintain and enhance the Buffalo Trace grounds and arboretum. Key duties include ensuring the grounds and arboretum are always in show condition, managing daily tasks, and developing comprehensive cultural practice programs for technicians.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate horticultural activities, including daily tasks, seasonal planning, and work order systems
  • Lead training and develop cultural practice programs for technicians
  • Assist with updating plant records database and maintaining labelling for the collection
  • Execute plan for seasonal color and landscape enhancements
  • Support overall safety program through project management excellence

Requirements

  • Associates degree or higher in horticulture from an accredited university
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in the horticultural field
  • Strong knowledge of ornamental horticulture and plant species care
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills

What We Offer

Salary: $73,000 - $88,000 per year, depending on experience
