Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will be responsible for providing mental health assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and crisis intervention services for adult and/or child members. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, and provide psychotherapy to individuals, couples, families, and groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate clinical treatment programs for members with acute or chronic mental illness.
  • Participate in staff conferences to select, plan, and evaluate treatment programs.
  • Provide outpatient psychotherapy to individuals, couples, families, and groups.
  • Instruct and counsel patients and their families regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens and adherence to prescribed medication regimens.
  • Administer specialized therapeutic procedures, as appropriate.
  • Provide consultation to other care providers and health educators on matters relating to mental health, health psychology, and behavioral medicine.
  • Provide clinical supervision to psychology doctoral interns, psychology postdoctoral residents, and other mental health trainees/fellows, as necessary.
Requirements
  • PhD/PsyD/EdD in Clinical Counseling, Health, or School Psychology from an accredited college or university.
  • Psychologist License (California) within 6 months of hire.
  • Experience in assessing, diagnosing, and treating a broad range of psychiatric conditions.
  • Knowledge of the bio-psycho-social functions that contribute to mental health.
  • Accuracy in diagnosing patients and developing effective treatment plans.
  • Competence in individual, family, and group psychotherapy.
  • Professional maturity and ethical integrity necessary for assuming professional responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous clinical responsibility to include crisis intervention, individual, and group psychotherapy.
  • Demonstrated experience in psychological evaluations of adults, children, adolescents, and families, including administering and writing up psychological testing and assessment batteries.
  • Demonstrated professional maturity and ethical integrity necessary for assuming professional responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality of service, teamwork, and participation in a highly interactive multidisciplinary clinic.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position with a 40-hour workweek. The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team-based environment and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
