Lighthouse Lab Services is seeking a skilled Medical Technologist to join their core lab team in Miami, FL. This is a 3rd shift position, Monday-Friday, with hours from 10pm to 7am.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Medical Technology and be certified as an MLS(ASCP) or MLT(ASCP). A Florida state license is also required.

The successful candidate will be responsible for determining the acceptability of specimens for testing, performing routine and complex technical procedures, and monitoring instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Determining the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
  • Performing routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
  • Monitoring, operating, and troubleshooting instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
  • Demonstrating the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving
  • Preparing, testing, and evaluating new reagents or controls
  • Reporting accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care
  • Performing and documenting preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
  • Identifying and replenishing testing bench supplies as necessary
  • Assisting with processing of specimens when needed
  • Maintaining a safe work environment and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment

The salary for this position is $21-35/hour, depending on experience and degree. Benefits include health, vision, dental, 401k, PTO, and holidays.
