Position Overview


As a Logistics Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated and innovative logistics solutions that create significant value for our clients in the mobile robotics and automation sectors.

Your role will involve establishing long-term relationships with peers, actively listening to customer needs, analyzing logistics processes, and posing insightful questions to provide expert advice that supports their business objectives.

Additionally, you will prepare quotes aimed at generating profitable contracts.
Collaboration with the Business Development (BD) team is essential, merging commercial and technical expertise. You will need to think strategically about opportunities while remaining aware of potential risks.

In this capacity, you will act as the central point of contact between the customer, internal Engineering, Supply Chain, and Project Management teams, fully responsible for budget preparation and the logistics solutions proposed. A primary focus will be on managing Key Accounts to ensure consistency in solutions and a standardized approach across multiple projects at the System Consultancy level.

Staying updated on market trends, technological advancements, and competitive landscape is crucial. Occasional travel to customer sites will be required.

Key Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Comprehend the customer's business case and requirements for opportunities, providing consultancy, developing logistics solutions, preparing budgets, and finalizing proposals aligned with BD strategy.
  • Lead the development and optimization of complex logistics projects characterized by high dynamics and multiple interfaces.
  • Offer technical support to sales and business development teams.
  • Conduct site visits to customer or prospect facilities and develop rough order of magnitude (ROM) documents.
  • Demonstrate expertise in data and process analysis, taking a leading role at the concept stage, guiding both customer and engineering teams on process and concept levels, and optimizing material flow strategies.
  • Drive innovation projects during the sales phase, in alignment with the product roadmap.
  • Identify and analyze customer needs, understand the business case for new innovations beyond the current project, ensuring commercial viability, and translating business requirements into product designs, concepts, and applications as input for the development process.
  • Prepare fixed and final price proposals (FFPs) for approval and conduct pricing of bids with Cost/Calcs.
  • Serve as the System Consultant for multiple Key Accounts, directing the standardization of products, interfaces, and methodologies across various Key Account projects.
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary and multinational team.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in a comparable commercial B2B role within a technical and capital goods environment.
  • Commercially minded, customer-focused, and results-oriented, with a particular affinity for material handling and Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs).
  • Ability to work independently as a self-starter, proactively delivering high-quality results.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence and impact stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of Dutch and German is preferred.
  • Strong relationship-building and networking skills.
  • Creative, entrepreneurial, and commercially savvy mindset.
Additional Information

This position is Hybrid - Remote and will involve commuting to a designated office. Hybrid work schedules will be determined by the hiring manager based on business needs.
