About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Prisma Health. As a key member of our nuclear medicine department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Care
    • Provide exceptional patient care and service, ensuring a positive experience for all patients and their families.
    • Verify patient identification and review orders for procedures to be performed.
    • Recognize and respond appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Radiopharmaceutical Management
    • Follow correct procedures for receipt and return of radioactive materials.
    • Implement ALARA measures while performing radio pharmacy duties.
    • Maintain accurate records of doses distributed to patients.
  • Imaging and Quality Control
    • Perform and evaluate routine quality control on all instrumentation.
    • Determine operational status and timely calibration of all survey instruments.
    • Perform and evaluate dose calibrator constancy test.
  • Communication and Teamwork
    • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
    • Seek to promote intra, inter, and external communications.
    • Maintain a pleasant and helpful attitude during all interactions.
  • Regulatory Compliance
    • Comply with departmental and regulatory policies on recordable events and misadministrations.
    • Properly dispose of or store radioactive materials and waste.
  • Education and Training
    • Instruct students in methodology of nuclear medicine procedures and principles of the science of nuclear medicine technology.
    • Mentor newly hired nuclear medicine technologists in departmental policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Certification Program - Graduate of accredited Nuclear Medicine technology school.
  • 1-year Nuclear Medicine experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ARRT in Radiology.
  • Experience on Philips equipment.
  • Spect/CT experience.
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of office equipment (fax/copier).
  • Proficient computer skills (database).
  • Data entry.
  • Mathematical skills.
  • Strong background in physics/chemistry.
  • Radiation Safety equipment.

Work Environment

This role is based in the Nuclear Medicine department at Prisma Health's Greenville Memorial Med Campus.
