Job Description

Senior Engineer - Log Management

The Senior Engineer role will collaborate closely with various technology support teams to deliver log management initiatives aimed at data ingestion and analytical outcomes for complex system management tasks related to software, hardware, performance, problem resolution, or resource allocation. This position will also offer technical assistance for self-service capabilities utilized by both technical and business teams to enhance the effectiveness of real-time log data. Responsibilities may include defining architectural and engineering requirements, conducting detailed analyses of diverse projects and requests, developing designs for projects of medium to high complexity, formulating procedures, monitoring key performance indicators, and implementing advanced business solutions. This role may also involve system integration or operate within a DevOps framework, depending on the organization's and/or product's maturity.

Position Responsibilities:
Design and Methodology
  • Collaborate with business units, application teams, infrastructure sectors, and vendors to identify, review, and evaluate solution requirements.
  • Assess and provide recommendations on emerging technologies, roadmaps, and vendor product offerings specific to server and software technologies.
  • Engage in long-term capacity planning and technology investment discussions.
Technical Consulting
  • Provide consultation and collaborate with other functional infrastructure areas on multiple initiatives to achieve common organizational goals.
  • Participate in and offer consulting to project teams regarding design development, integration opportunities, and system planning, ensuring alignment with established strategies and practices.
Planning and Organizing
  • Assist and guide project/program planning phases and processes.
  • Manage large to enterprise-level projects/programs/initiatives/services with high complexity across multiple functional areas.
Risk Management
  • Review, develop, and update guiding principles, rationales, and strategies.
  • Evaluate and approve design solutions for business and infrastructure projects or initiatives.
Administration
  • Keep management informed of activity statuses through accurate and timely reporting.
  • Actively participate in committees representing the department and/or planning unit.
