Responsibilities:- Perform all SUE Tech I and II functions
- Comprehend and interpret utility and highway design plans, atlases, and record drawings
- Oversee and coordinate the effective maintenance and operation of vehicles, equipment, tools, and supplies
- Administer monthly tailgate safety meetings
- Select and implement proper maintenance of traffic signage
- Supervise all crew activities as assigned
- Perform one-call / call before you dig notifications and communicate and coordinate with utility company representatives
- Represent and communicate on behalf of TBE and crew when encountering third parties in the field
- Coordinate survey activities in connection with SUE work
- Train other crew members
- Meet all criteria for SUE Tech I and II
- Highly skilled in geophysical prospecting for underground utilities including use of multi-frequency equipment
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a SUE Tech II or 3 years in the successful application of geophysical equipment in utility locating such as for a contract utility locating firm or a major utility company
- Ability to perform physical movements and tractions commensurate with operating heavy tools and equipment
- Outdoor work in all climates
- Possible extensive travel by motor vehicle or airplane up to 2 weeks continuously and overtime as needed
- May be required to work weekends and holidays
- May be required to work hours other than 8 to 5
- Attend work regularly and observe approved work hours
- Required to work under exposure to inclement weather conditions
- Required to wear personal protective equipment provided by employer and comply with all safety requirements
- Driver's record check will be conducted by Lamb-Star Engineering, L.P. Satisfactory driving records are required for driving company vehicles and motor driven equipment to conduct company business
- Physical exam at the employer's expense may be required
- Drug screen at the employer's expense will be required
- If necessary, as part of its employment process, Lamb-Star may procure or have prepared a criminal background check for various positions where the employee may need clearance for secure areas. An applicant with an unsatisfactory criminal background check report is ineligible to be hired for the position for which the report is initiated
