Position Summary

Under the guidance of the Child Services Director, the Youth Services Program Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of the Sacred Heart Center's Child Services Department. This role is pivotal in leading the ongoing enhancement and execution of the department's initiatives in alignment with the Sacred Heart Center's mission. The Supervisor will manage the residential aspect of the Child Services program and the direct care personnel.

Reporting Structure

This position reports directly to the Director of Child Services.

Key Responsibilities

The primary focus of the Supervisor is to improve the quality of care provided to the youth and ensure continuity of services throughout their stay at the Sacred Heart Center.

Specific Duties Include:

  1. Overseeing the management of the Child Services youth programs, ensuring adherence to all regulatory, licensing, and contractual obligations, as well as internal policies.
  2. Providing leadership and supervision to the Child Services team, including Youth Care Workers, the Supervisor, Case Manager, Administrative Assistant, and Food Supply Specialist, while fostering the achievement of individual staff objectives.
  3. Managing staff schedules and coordinating with the Case Manager, Nurse, and other relevant personnel to ensure adequate staffing for youth appointments and transportation.
  4. Maintaining a professional environment that guarantees each youth receives appropriate services and that staff are adequately trained to meet the evolving demands of the program.
  5. Facilitating and participating in regular meetings with staff, placing agencies, counselors, and other service providers as necessary, while coordinating case management with the Case Manager.
  6. Collaborating with the Case Manager and therapists to identify and organize educational programs and classes, such as independent living skills and behavior management.
  7. Overseeing pre-admission processes, orientations, youth intakes, and assessments for newly admitted individuals.
  8. Reporting any concerns to the Director of Child Services or relevant external agencies when necessary.
  9. Coordinating with external agencies to address youth needs, ensuring staff utilize approved methodologies for securing necessary services and resources.
  10. Managing the Child Services budget in conjunction with the Director, ensuring all expenditures are pre-approved and compliant with established standards.
  11. Overseeing internal financial processes, incident reporting, and compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  12. Leading staff meetings in collaboration with the Director, Supervisor, Nurse, and Case Manager.
  13. Performing additional duties as required to support the mission of the Sacred Heart Center, including after-hours responsibilities related to youth services.

Qualifications

  • Preferred completion of a Post-Secondary Vocational Technical program or relevant degree.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality across all departments.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Word and Outlook, and the capacity to learn job-specific software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with effective communication abilities.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Successful completion of background checks.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent use of hands and wrists for extended periods.
  • Driving is a necessary component of the role.
  • Some supervisory duties may require prolonged standing.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs. without assistance.

Work Schedule Expectations

This position requires a commitment of at least 40 hours per week, including potential weekend, evening, and on-call hours.
