Job Overview

Crown Staffing is seeking a Customs Compliance Specialist for a Warehouse in the Indianapolis area. This position operates Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, with a competitive salary range of $44,000 to $55,000 based on experience. This is a Direct Hire opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

As a Customs Compliance Specialist, your main duties will include:

  • Reviewing import and export documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Verifying that all customs invoices and shipment papers are in order and comply with regulations.
  • Preparing necessary paperwork for customs clearance and processing entries.
  • Maintaining communication with the Operations department to coordinate efforts.
  • Generating regular customer status reports and monitoring problem files.
  • Conducting thorough document reviews to confirm compliance with federal regulations.
  • Addressing documentation discrepancies through effective communication with clients and foreign entities.
  • Escalating unresolved issues to prevent operational impacts.
  • Collaborating with various departments to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned to support compliance efforts.
  • Ensuring adherence to Customs regulations at all times.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics and brokerage.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of engaging confidently and professionally at all levels.
  • Proven ability to identify, assess, and manage risks effectively.
  • Experience in reviewing compliance certifications and regulatory documents for improvement opportunities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to handle confidential inquiries.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and understand their significance.
  • Familiarity with operational, financial, quality assurance, and human resource regulations.
  • Critical thinking skills to navigate complex compliance issues.
