Job Overview
Primoris Water and Mechanical is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in planning, coordinating, and executing projects safely, cost-effectively, and at high quality.
The Project Engineer will work closely with Project Managers and Site Superintendents to ensure that construction documentation and execution meet contractual, technical, safety, and quality requirements. This includes developing project submittals, reviewing submittals for compliance, and initiating RFI's as required.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering or construction management, with 5-15 years of experience in the construction or engineering industries. Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Microsoft Excel and Word, is required. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for effective communication with team members, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that construction documentation and execution meet contractual, technical, safety, and quality requirements.
- Develop project submittals based on engineered specifications and drawings.
- Review all submittals for compliance and transmit submittals to clients/owners/engineers.
- Initiate RFI's as required based on technical reviews.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and develop material purchase requisitions.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to complete procurement buy-out process.
- Provide technical support for construction planning, interpretation of design, and application of construction methods.
- Collaborate with the construction team to ensure they have the necessary inputs, materials, documentation, information, quantities, and parameters to build the work.
- Confer with engineers, vendors, and subcontractors to develop Value Engineering ideas.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
- 5-15 years of experience in the construction or engineering industries.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to compose basic and complex technical documents.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
