Job Summary:

Draper Labs is seeking a Radiation Effects Engineer to support the development of electronic systems that can withstand the harsh conditions of space. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in radiation effects, electronic systems, and software development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electronic systems that can withstand radiation effects, including single event effects and total ionizing dose.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that radiation hardening is maintained across the product lifecycle.
  • Develop and execute test plans to validate the radiation hardness of electronic systems.
  • Contribute to the development of radiation effects models and tools to support system design and analysis.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in radiation effects, electronic systems, and software development.
  • Strong background in radiation effects, including single event effects and total ionizing dose.
  • Experience with electronic system design and development, including hardware and software components.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with radiation effects modeling and simulation tools, such as MCNP and FLUKA.
  • Experience with electronic system design and development, including hardware and software components.
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum.
