Position Overview: As a Personal Care Assistant at Harmony Haven Home Care, you will deliver individualized support and care to clients within their residences, promoting their well-being and independence in a familiar setting. This role requires a nurturing demeanor, exceptional dependability, and the flexibility to meet the varied needs of clients.
Core Duties:
- Assist clients with daily personal care activities, including bathing, dressing, and hygiene maintenance.
- Support household management tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning, and shopping for groceries.
- Offer companionship and assistance during everyday activities, creating a warm and encouraging atmosphere.
- Observe and document the client's health status; communicate updates to the Homecare Manager and other healthcare professionals.
- Provide medication reminders (note: medication administration is not permitted).
- Address the emotional and social needs of clients, serving as a confidant and companion.
- Ensure adherence to all health and safety protocols.
- Accompany clients to medical appointments and social gatherings as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling all client information.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in home care, nursing, or a related field is advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience as a caregiver or in a similar capacity; prior homecare experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with household tasks and cooking, with consideration for dietary restrictions.
- Commitment to following health and safety guidelines.
- Compassionate and respectful with a strong focus on client service.
- Strong time management abilities and effective task prioritization.
- Able to work in a dynamic and sometimes challenging environment; physically capable of assisting clients as necessary.
- Possession of a valid driver's license (with insurance) and dependable transportation.
- Must successfully complete a background check.
- Ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- CPR certification.
- HHA and CNA certifications are preferred.
