Position Overview:
We are in search of a highly skilled Structural Engineer to take on a pivotal role in the design, analysis, and oversight of wood structures. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of wood as a construction material and be proficient in structural analysis and design software.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Structural Design: Create and develop structural systems for a variety of wood structures, ensuring compliance with all relevant building codes and standards.
  • Material Selection: Choose suitable wood materials and components, taking into account strength, durability, and sustainability.
  • Analysis and Calculations: Conduct structural analysis and calculations to guarantee the safety and stability of wood structures under different loads and conditions.
  • Project Coordination: Work collaboratively with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project execution, providing technical guidance throughout the construction process.
  • Code Compliance: Ensure all designs and construction methods adhere to local, state, and national building codes and regulations.
  • Innovation and Sustainability: Stay updated on advancements in wood construction techniques and materials, promoting sustainable practices in all projects.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform site visits and inspections to confirm that construction aligns with design specifications and quality standards, addressing any structural issues that may arise.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare comprehensive engineering reports, drawings, and documentation for each project, maintaining accurate records of all design and construction activities.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering, focusing on wood structures.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SAP2000, etc.).
  • Extensive knowledge of wood materials, construction methods, and building codes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Commitment to sustainability and innovative engineering practices.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with mass timber construction and cross-laminated timber (CLT).
  • Familiarity with green building standards (e.g., LEED certification).
  • Knowledge of building information modeling (BIM) tools.
