Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Cardiovascular Sonographer to join our team at Cape Canaveral Hospital. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, mentoring and developing the skills of our sonography team, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in our cardiovascular imaging services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert-level sonography services, including echocardiography and vascular ultrasound, to patients of all ages and medical conditions.
  • Mentor and develop the skills of our sonography team, including new hires and students, to ensure they meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety, and to improve departmental efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with other departments and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and to promote interdepartmental relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards, including The Joint Commission and IAC accreditation.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a Sonography program or equivalent experience.
  • Current registration in two (2) of the following registries: RVT, RVS, RDCS, RCS, or RCCS.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Completion Card.
  • At least two (2) years of cardiovascular sonography experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to assess and interpret data, and to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, with a moderate level of physical activity required. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to biohazards and the need to lift and move patients and equipment.
