About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Shift Manager to join our Labor and Delivery team at Northridge Hospital Medical Center. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating the overall nursing care and functions in a particular nursing unit during an assigned shift.


Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage a team of nursing staff assigned to a particular shift, ensuring that patients receive high-quality care.
  • Assign patients to available nursing staff, taking into consideration the patient's condition and the employee's skill level.
  • Anticipate staffing needs and proactively respond to them to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Provide nursing care to patients on an as-needed basis, ensuring that their needs are met.
  • Oversee the stocking of supplies and updating of patient records to ensure that the nursing floor is ready for subsequent shifts.

Requirements
  • Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as a registered nurse required.
  • Two years of experience in Labor and Delivery.
  • Registered Nurse with current California License.
  • AHA BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required.
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required, with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
  • LA Fire Card required within 90 days of hire.
