Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Basketball Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in basketball and experience teaching and coaching youth. The role involves providing targeted instruction, coaching, and mentorship to students in our after-school camp program.

Key Responsibilities

• Motivate students to participate in daily physical activity
• Develop and implement lesson plans that are structured, age-appropriate, and aligned with our sports and physical activity guide
• Maintain communication with the Program Director and Center for Sports and Wellness regarding program schedules and events
• Encourage students to participate in organization-wide sports activities
• Establish and enforce safety rules and procedures for maintaining order among students
• Instruct participants on activity principles, techniques, and safety procedures
• Evaluate activities to determine their effectiveness
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet students' needs and interests

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required; some college preferred
• Minimum of one year of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience
• Minimum of one year of teaching experience
• Passion for New York Edge's mission and demonstrated interest in education and youth development
