As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing general and preventive maintenance work on machines, equipment, buildings, and plant facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general maintenance work on mechanical equipment, hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, quench conveyors, quench tanks, and water leaks.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of MiG welding, Stick Welding, Plasma cutting, and cutting torch use.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Metal Shear use, Press Brake use, and punch press use.
  • Assist plant service specialists in mechanical and electrical work as required.
  • Working knowledge of all plant utilities, locations, and color coding for servicing.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards for proper installations and work compliance.
  • Utilize fall-arrest systems to perform work at heights greater than 4 feet.
  • Responsible for housekeeping of work area.
  • Responsible for safety of oneself and others.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
  • Minimum of two years in maintenance field desired.
  • Maintain a good attendance record.
  • Have necessary tools.
  • Strong ability/knowledge in at least one phase of maintenance work.
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Work-Ready Certificate a plus.
Training and Skills
  • Basic Electrical.
  • Pneumatic.
  • Hydraulic.
  • Mechanical.
  • Computers.
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors
  • Subject to standing for extended periods of time (12 hour shifts).
  • Temperature extremes of up to 110 degrees in peak summer months.
