Position Overview
As a vital member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and safety across our facilities.

Reporting Structure: Reports directly to the Facilities Manager.

Work Schedule: Part-time, year-round.

All employees are expected to uphold the ECS Declaration of Faith and affirm sections 1-5, 8-13.

Applicants will be required to endorse both the ECS Declaration of Faith and the ECS Standards of Conduct for staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure safe working conditions and practices are maintained.
  • Familiarize yourself with the proper usage of all cleaning chemicals.
  • Collaborate with administrative staff to keep Material Safety Data Sheets (MDS) updated for all chemicals in use.
  • Maintain and service all cleaning equipment.
  • Adhere to posted cleaning schedules.
  • Check and replenish all paper products as necessary.
  • Clean glass surfaces in designated areas.
  • Perform sweeping, vacuuming, dust mopping, or wet mopping of floors in assigned locations.
  • Collect and dispose of trash from designated areas, replacing trash bags as needed.
  • Dust all assigned areas on a weekly basis.
  • Thoroughly clean and sanitize restrooms.
  • Utilize floor scrubbers for cleaning hallways and gym areas as assigned.
  • Complete all cleaning tasks in assigned areas by the end of your shift.
  • Respond promptly to any emergency cleaning or safety issues.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager.
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
  • Pastoral reference from a local church to confirm regular attendance and active involvement.
  • Commitment to the mission statement, core values, Code of Conduct, and Statement of Faith of Emmanuel Christian School.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in institutional cleaning and basic facility maintenance.
  • Physically capable of operating cleaning equipment and moving furniture as needed.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills when interacting with both adults and children.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently to complete all daily responsibilities.
