Position Summary

We're seeking a Principal Investigator for Cultural Resources in our Planning, Permitting, and Licensing Practice (PPL). This individual will be based in our New Orleans, LA Office and will work closely with other environmental and cultural resources staff to further develop TRC's cultural resource services in the Gulf of Mexico.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with the Cultural Resources Team Lead and Senior Cultural Resources Projects Coordinator to assist in managing agency, client, and tribal relationships, marketing, and proposal development.
  • Assist and advise other cultural resources staff, and direct and manage large and complex cultural resources projects, including fieldwork and report preparation.
  • Develop and implement budgets, research designs, work plans, schedules, analyses, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations, environmental review processes, and compliance requirements.
  • Meet the Secretary of Interior's Professional Qualifications for Archaeology, History, Architectural History, or Historic Architecture.
Qualifications
  • Graduate degree (M.A. or Ph.D.) from a United States accredited university in anthropology, archaeology, architectural history, or historic preservation.
  • Previous project experience working on federal and state lands, with regional experience allowing for immediate permitting with local offices of federal agencies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to accomplish tasks in a timely manner and produce high-quality reports.
  • A commitment to safety and familiarity with digital data recordation and management.
