Position Overview
The Radiologic Imaging Specialist is responsible for conducting a variety of imaging examinations in alignment with established standards and protocols, as well as the core values and mission of the organization. Work Schedule: Full Time Days
Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluates patient medical history and physician directives, ensuring proper scheduling of imaging procedures.
  • Provides comprehensive education to patients regarding the imaging process, equipment, and examination to facilitate understanding and cooperation.
  • Prepares and administers contrast agents and medications as prescribed, adhering to the scope of practice.
  • Continuously monitors patient status and responds to any changes in condition promptly.
  • Prepares necessary equipment and materials, selecting appropriate exposure factors and imaging settings.
  • Implements safety protocols and conducts quality control checks on imaging devices.
  • Diagnoses and addresses equipment issues, reporting malfunctions as needed.
  • Positions patients accurately and performs imaging procedures effectively.
  • Reviews imaging results, identifying and resolving quality concerns, including repositioning patients and repeating procedures when necessary.
  • Enters and transmits imaging data efficiently.
  • May assist in the training of Radiology students.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Licensure/Certification: Must be registered as a Radiologic Technologist (R) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R). Additional specialty certifications may be required based on the position. State licensure as mandated by law. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers is also required.
  • BLS certification must be obtained through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross, with a valid card required prior to the start date. All life support certifications must be current and issued by recognized organizations.
Compensation: The hourly wage for this role is $38.70, contingent upon the applicant's relevant experience. UCHealth provides a Five Year Incentive Bonus to acknowledge employee contributions towards quality, patient satisfaction, organizational growth, and financial objectives. This bonus is accumulated annually and disbursed after five years of employment.
