Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Construction Intern to join our team at Upstone Materials Inc. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the construction industry, working on various projects and assisting in the planning and execution of construction operations.

The Construction Intern will work closely with our experienced construction team to assist in the coordination of material purchases, deliveries, and tracking, ensuring maximum utilization of company resources. Additionally, the candidate will participate in activities related to development and maintenance of customer relationships, operate heavy equipment, and perform manual and skilled labor tasks.

The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in a relevant field, such as Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management, and possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Previous construction or intern experience is preferred, but not required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist construction personnel in planning and building work by optimizing resource utilization and minimizing costs.
  • Support the project team in establishing the sequential steps involved in all processes with the scope of the project, including bid processes and contract development.
  • Work closely with the project team monitoring the safety, cost, and scheduling of construction projects.
  • Assist with coordination of material purchases, deliveries, tracking, and forecasting to ensure maximum utilization of company resources.
  • Participate in activities related to development and maintenance of customer relationships.
  • Operate heavy equipment.
  • Perform manual and skilled labor tasks.

Requirements:

  • Enrollment in a relevant degree program, including Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving history required.
