Process Systems Engineer - Multiphase Modeling Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Systems Engineer to join our team at OLI Systems, Inc. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of process systems engineering, with a focus on multiphase modeling and computational science. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and maintenance of our computational modeling platform, with a specific focus on multiphase, multicomponent electrolyte systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance and enhancement of our existing codebase
  • Development of next-generation process modeling and optimization tools
  • Development and maintenance of numerical algorithms and solution techniques for chemical and phase equilibrium and kinetics of multiphase, multicomponent systems

Qualifications:
A successful candidate must possess an advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in chemical engineering with a focus on process systems engineering. The candidate must have specialized experience in formulating and solving complex nonlinear systems of equations, as well as technical experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Process modeling and optimization (both dynamic and steady-state)
  • Development of novel mathematical optimization algorithms and solution techniques
  • Development of process modeling tools and software

The ideal candidate will also demonstrate technical experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Ability to write clear, well-documented code and work effectively with legacy code
  • Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and delivering well-tested code
  • Knowledge of advanced thermodynamic models, phase equilibria, and electrolyte properties
  • Development and integration of AI/ML to enhance process modeling and optimization
