Position Overview:

The Staff Specialist in the Office of Administrative Services plays a crucial role in managing the billing processes related to non-public tuition and associated fees. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can oversee financial transactions and ensure accuracy in service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the billing procedures within the Office of Administrative Services, emphasizing non-public tuition and related charges.
  • Oversee expenditures related to special education purchase orders, collaborating closely with the Finance Office.
  • Generate monthly reports to inform the Coordinator about the Office's requirements based on trend analysis.
  • Work alongside team members to propose effective strategies for fund utilization through comprehensive data analysis.
  • Track expenses for non-public educational institutions and conduct related financial assessments.
  • Verify the accuracy of invoices and the delivery of services in coordination with Non-Public Office personnel.
  • Conduct school visits as necessary to confirm service delivery and student placements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors providing special education services.
  • Complete essential reporting and audits in compliance with MSDE regulations.
  • Ensure adherence to equal employment and nondiscrimination policies.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree is required.
  • At least two years of relevant experience in program or financial management is preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in analyzing and reporting on complex issues is necessary.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously is advantageous.
