Position: Junior Systems Engineer

Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required

Key Responsibilities:

DCCA is seeking Junior to Mid-Level Systems Engineers with experience in both Linux and Windows environments. We have several openings available.

  • Assist in the deployment, troubleshooting, and upkeep of IT systems.
  • Oversee IT systems, including daily operations, monitoring, and resolving issues for all client/server/storage/network devices, as well as mobile devices.
  • Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) support for problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
  • Facilitate the escalation and communication of status updates to management and internal stakeholders.
  • Support the dispatch system and hardware issues, remaining engaged in the resolution process.
  • Configure and manage Linux, UNIX, and Windows operating systems, including the installation and loading of software, troubleshooting, maintaining integrity, and configuring network components to enhance reliability and performance.
  • Optimize system operations and resource utilization, conducting system capacity analysis and planning.
  • Provide support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience with multiple operating systems, including Linux, UNIX, and/or Windows environments.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies, particularly VMware.
  • Basic scripting knowledge.
  • Proficient in IT troubleshooting.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and technologies.

Preferred Skills:

  • Understanding of networking principles or a background in network administration is advantageous.
  • Experience with storage solutions such as Netapp/EMC.
  • Knowledge of NiFi.
  • Ability to create and modify scripts in languages such as bash, perl, shell, or python.
  • Possession of Security+ or equivalent IAT Level II certification.
  • Experience in a customer service/Tier 1/Tier 2 support environment.
  • Familiarity with dataflow concepts.

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience, or 10 years of experience as a System Administrator without a degree.
