In the esteemed position of Acute Inpatient Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist at North Star Behavioral Health System in Anchorage, Alaska, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the lives of children and adolescents through compassionate care.

About the Position

This is an exceptional opportunity to work with a dynamic team dedicated to providing top-notch behavioral health services. As an Acute Inpatient Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist, your primary responsibilities will include completing initial psychiatric evaluations, assessments, discharges, patient documentation, treatment team meetings, and daily care of assigned patients.

Key Highlights
  • Work in a mostly inpatient setting with optional availability for OP, PHP, or RTC volume if interested.
  • Flexible scheduling options available, including block scheduling or Monday-Friday schedules, as well as hybrid in-person/remote arrangements.
  • Minimal call/weekend coverage required, with 1:5 Saturday/Sunday rounding and once-per-week evening call (phone only).
  • Career growth opportunities, including Unit Leadership and personal/professional development.
  • Teaching/mentoring opportunities to impact the next generation of clinicians by mentoring medical students, psychiatry residents, and fellows, nursing students, etc.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a highly competitive compensation package that includes:

  • A base salary range of $330,000-$350,000, determined by experience level, qualifications, job fit, and other factors.
  • Malpractice insurance coverage.

Requirements

To be eligible for this exciting opportunity, you must have:

  1. A MD/DO degree from an accredited program.
  2. Board Certified or Board Eligible Child/Adolescent Psychiatry (preferred).
  3. Licensed to practice in the State of AK or the ability to obtain an AK medical license.
  4. Meets all credentialing criteria required by participating physicians.

The estimated salary for this position is between $330,000 and $350,000, based on experience, qualifications, and other factors.
