JOB SUMMARY:
The Facilities Maintenance Manager will oversee all repair and upkeep tasks both inside and outside of the entire facility, including resident living areas and the maintenance of the grounds and exterior.
This position entails supervising all maintenance and housekeeping personnel, assigning tasks according to daily operational needs.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Perform plumbing repairs including fixing toilets, unclogging drains, and addressing leaks and drips.
Replace and clean filters in HVAC systems, washers, dryers, and exhaust fans. Repair windows, doors, and various fixtures.
Maintain and repair appliances, lawn equipment, and other machinery.
Change light bulbs, fuses, and batteries, and conduct electrical repairs as needed.
Install or fix handrails, grab bars, and other essential fixtures.
Conduct painting and minor construction tasks as required.
Ensure a supply of replacement parts is maintained and establish vendor relationships for repairs and supplies.
Perform routine inspections throughout the facility and ensure cleanliness and safety standards are upheld.
Respond to emergency calls promptly and manage snow and ice removal as necessary.
Supervise housekeeping staff to ensure compliance with infection control practices.
Conduct daily inspections of work areas to maintain sanitary conditions.
Train staff on the proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Assist in hiring, training, and evaluating maintenance and housekeeping personnel.
Monitor departmental expenses to adhere to budgetary constraints.
Participate in departmental and safety meetings.
Ensure confidentiality of resident care information is maintained.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of one year of relevant experience preferred.
Job Knowledge:
Proficiency in using tools and equipment for repairs and construction; familiarity with plumbing, electrical systems, and appliance maintenance.
Other:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as specifications and safety instructions. Strong communication skills are essential, with proficiency in English for effective interaction and direction following. A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
