Job Title: Design Engineering Manager

At Phoenix Stamping Group, we are seeking an experienced Design Engineering Manager to lead our Design Engineering team. As a key member of our Engineering department, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and overseeing all engineering design-related activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Leadership: Provide guidance and support to Design Engineers, ensuring they have the necessary resources and expertise to excel in their roles.
  • Design Engineering Processes: Develop, implement, and manage Design Engineering processes and standard work, with a focus on continuous process improvement.
  • Customer Support: Plan, implement, and manage customer support functions, including managing customer data and contacts.
  • Engineering Drawings: Create, review, and maintain engineering drawings, including working, tooling, and fixture drawings.
  • Design Review: Participate in the Design Review process, providing feedback on part, tooling, fixture, and gauge designs.
  • ERP Data Management: Create and maintain ERP part data in support of manufacturing.
  • Engineering Change Requests: Investigate, coordinate, and complete engineering change requests with the appropriate departments.
  • Quality and Manufacturing Issues: Determine necessary data for engineering evaluations of quality and manufacturing issues.
  • Tooling Design Engineer Support: Support the Tooling Design Engineer in designing and validating tooling, fixtures, and gauges in support of manufacturing.
  • Department Strategy: Assist the VP of Engineering in building and executing the department's long-term strategy and vision.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in Design Engineering or related field.
  • Skills: Strong technical knowledge of engineering design principles and practices, excellent leadership and communication skills.
