Position Title: Regional Environmental Engineer (Travel Required)
Role Summary:
As a Regional Environmental Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing environmental management systems and ensuring compliance across multiple locations. Your expertise will guide the development of standards and policies that align with regulatory requirements, while also conducting environmental performance analyses and establishing key metrics. You will be instrumental in fostering relationships with both internal teams and external partners, including regulatory bodies and contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to environmental regulations and NPAA policies.
- Design and implement regional strategic initiatives that integrate engineering, construction, and operational practices.
- Promote a culture of environmental responsibility within the organization.
- Act as a primary contact for regulatory agency interactions, including permit evaluations and the introduction of new processes and technologies.
- Oversee that all work conducted by contractors and consultants meets NPAA standards.
- Develop and track environmental metrics to assess and forecast performance.
- Conduct comprehensive environmental audits to drive continuous improvement.
- Manage multiple complex assignments effectively.
- Represent NPAA in interactions with governmental agencies and within the company.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders to proactively identify and manage risks.
- Prepare and submit essential reports to regulatory agencies.
- Conduct thorough investigations of environmental incidents and prepare necessary regulatory documentation, including corrective action plans.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, chemical engineering, or a related discipline is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in an environmental technical role, program specialization, or management is preferred.
- Familiarity with regulatory assessments, air quality evaluations, water discharge regulations, and waste management practices.
- In-depth knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations.
- Experience with ISO 14001 or ACA Responsible Care management systems is advantageous.
