Job Title: Native American Healing Specialist

About the Role:

The Native American Healing Specialist will be responsible for implementing and evaluating the Traditional Healing grant activities, with a focus on developing a sustainable cultural healing program at NACC. Key responsibilities include planning cultural trainings and activities within the urban Native American community, building collaborations with internal departments and external programs, agencies, and stakeholders serving the NA community.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate resources to support culturally appropriate programming and workshops, including ordering supplies and managing registration and post-test surveys.
  • Monitor traditional healing grant budgets and reporting.
  • Engage NA community leaders and elders to foster participation in traditional healing activities.
  • Establish partnerships and agreements with cultural advisors and elders offering ceremonies and trainings.
  • Develop strategies and infrastructure to deliver cultural services and activities virtually.
  • Work collaboratively with community partners to support engagement in cultural activities.
  • Facilitate traditional activities and ceremonies supporting cultural reclamation, identity formation, and family (re)unification, prevention, and resilience.
  • Oversee the Elder's Council and quarterly engagement.
  • Consult and engage Elders in Residence and Elder Council in all phases of the work plan.
  • Provide opportunities for cultural and traditional knowledge, skills, abilities, and wisdom sharing, including monthly, bi-weekly, or weekly groups.
  • Coordinate ceremonies such as cedar and full moon ceremony.
  • Develop resources like brochures or booklets to ensure retention and transfer of knowledge.
  • Encourage clients and employees to take an active part in cultural community-based activities offered.
  • Market and publicize scheduled ceremonies and events to patients and community members.
  • Conduct inventory and complete purchase orders for the department.
  • Help coordinate schedules of the traditional healing team around ceremony and community events, creating a monthly events calendar.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • College degree preferred.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 per year, depending on experience.
