Purpose: This role is dedicated to the upkeep and troubleshooting of IT hardware, software, and peripherals maintained by the District. The position aims to deliver professional assistance to both staff and students. Assignments may vary based on the needs of the District or may involve dispatch from the help desk.

Reporting To: Technology Director

Qualifications/Requirements:
Proficiency in computer hardware and software is essential. Familiarity with Windows 7, Windows 10, and Apple OS and iOS is required. Knowledge of LAN and WLAN systems is necessary. Experience with Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory is preferred. Candidates must exhibit strong time management, communication, and organizational skills. A courteous and helpful demeanor is essential, along with the ability to assist frustrated staff and students. The ability to work independently and collaboratively is crucial. Candidates should be self-motivated, cooperative, and demonstrate initiative. The ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information is required. A resume must accompany the application. Coordination of repairs and returns with vendors is also part of the role. A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is necessary.

Essential Job Functions:
  1. Repair and maintain computers, printers, and projectors.
  2. Troubleshoot and resolve computer hardware and software issues.
  3. Diagnose and address network and wireless problems.
  4. Install computers and related software.
  5. Document all work in the help desk work order system.
  6. Manage inventory of assigned equipment.
  7. Assist in training and development of staff.
  8. Research and assess new hardware and software options.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Special Physical Requirements:
Duties are performed in a centralized computer repair environment and at various locations. While executing job responsibilities, the employee may encounter varying lighting conditions, dust, and pollen, as well as regular traffic conditions while commuting. Frequent requirements include sitting, using hands for handling or feeling, and effective communication. Occasional driving, standing, walking, climbing, balancing, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, pushing/pulling up to fifty (50) pounds, and lifting/moving up to twenty (20) pounds for distances of at least 35 feet are necessary. The ability to manage noise and constant interruptions is essential.

  1. The employee must remain free from alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout their employment.
  2. The employee should serve as a role model for students in demonstrating responsible citizenship and conduct.
Terms of Employment:
  1. At will.
  2. Regular attendance is mandatory for all employees, subject to allowed leave per district policy.
  3. The selected candidate must pass a background check.
  4. The selected candidate must provide health and inoculation certification.
Evaluation:
  1. Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Kansas Statutes and district policy.
  2. Evaluation will be conducted by the Director of Technology.
