The Medical Cardiology Progressive Care Unit is a 20-bed facility within the Cardiovascular Institute. Our unit is set to transition to a new state-of-the-art facility in the near future, enhancing our capacity to provide exceptional care.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
1. Conducting age-specific admissions and ongoing assessments, ensuring thorough documentation to inform care planning.
2. Collaborating with healthcare team members, patients, and families to create, implement, and evaluate interdisciplinary care plans tailored to individual needs.
3. Adjusting care plans in response to changes in patient conditions.
4. Administering treatments and medications accurately, utilizing automated systems for documentation, including electronic medical records.
Qualifications:
Education:
Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program or an approved program eligible for licensure.
Experience:
No prior experience is required.
Licensure/Certification:
Must hold a current Registered Nurse license in Virginia or be eligible for licensure. CPR certification is required, along with ACLS, PALS, and NRP as needed.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in electronic medical records systems is essential. Successful completion of orientation and competency requirements is expected.
